About Melissa

Hello. I'm Melissa- your free spirited, interior designing, dog loving, creative junkie.

I like to think that I'm not your typical interior designer. I was born and raised (and currently live) in Toronto. I studied design at the Academy of Design here in Toronto and Rhodec International. It wasn't long before I realized that the design “industry” could be pretty pretentious, and this didn’t reflect my personality or goals. I wanted something different for myself and my clients. I needed to explore my creative potential; help my clients reclaim their homes by turning them into functional spaces that express their personalities and lifestyles ... this is where the inspiration for Design Box came.

I adore culture, photography (but by no means am I a pro; it's strictly a hobby), nostalgia, handmade goods and the dog biz that my hubby and I run. 

Being addicted to creativity isn't easy. The ideas just keep flowing, so it wasn't long before I began another venture with my creative soulmate, Andrea. We founded (c. Lola)... pronounced Circa Lola. We are both collectors and lovers of all things vintage and live to create- so it was natural for us to embark on this journey together.
